As the travel industry continues to see rising demand, investments are starting to come thick and fast in new hotels around the globe. Here's a selection of hotels that are set to open their doors in the future.

Tui expands hotel offerings

The Tui Blue hotel brand has set its sights firmly on China and Malaysia by opening its first hotel locations. The hotels are designed to offer comfortable accommodation and for guests to experience cultural and scenic features.

In Malaysia, the 150-bed Tui Blue The Haven Ipoh opened in Ipoh, the capital of Perak state. Its location allows guests to explore the city's diverse attractions and the surrounding area.

Tui Blue has also opened three locations in China. The 83-room Tui Blue Wusongkou Cruise Port is in Asia's largest cruise port and close enough for guests to visit Shanghai.

The 129-room Tui Blue Taicang is located in the historic riverside town of Taicang on the Yangtze River. The town is renowned for its ancient architecture and rich cultural heritage. And the Tui Blue Yangshuo Xiangheli opens a window on the picturesque landscape of Guilin, known for its impressive rock formations and stunning nature.

The openings complement Tui Blue's expansion into Asia. It already has the Tui Blue Maduzi Bangkok in Thailand and the Tui Blue Berawa in Vietnam.

Banyan Tree Higashiyama Kyoto, Japan

The Banyan Tree Higashiyama Kyoto is in Kyoto's historic Higashiyama Ward, offering 52 guestrooms, a spa, restaurant, bar, and a Noh stage.

Close to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kiyomizu-dera Temple, the hotel also organizes cultural explorations for guests to engage with traditions, such as witnessing the craftsmanship involved in creating Noh masks.

Swissôtel Nusantara, Indonesia

Located in Indonesia's future capital city, Nusantara, East Kalimantan, Swissôtel Nusantara is among lush greenery of Forest Park, near the Presidential Palace. The hotel has 191 rooms and suites, featuring swimming pools, gym, spa, restaurants, kids' club and meeting venues.

Conrad Chongqing, China

Conrad Chongqing introduces an Oriental Floating City concept that blends local nature and culture with 275 guestrooms. Located in the Nan'an District, facilities include restaurants, lobby bar, and over 2,000m² of versatile event spaces.

Meliá Hotels adds to Vietnam portfolio

Meliá Hotels International has agreed with BB Group Hospitality to launch Meliá Hue Kobi Onsen Resort, its second hotel in the city following Meliá Vinpearl Hue.

Currently known as Kobi Onsen Resort Hue, the property will undergo a rebranding process, emerging as Meliá Hue Kobi Onsen Resort next year. The 155-key hot spring resort is on the outskirts of Vietnam's former capital, close enough to explore the Imperial City but far enough away to reap the benefits of the property's serene and healing setting.

The resort features well-being facilities, including a steam bath, soda bath, dry sauna, Himalayan salt sauna, and a traditional onsen with indoor and outdoor hot spring baths separated by gender.

There are onsite dining venues, Japanese-style gardens, the largest koi pond in Hue, an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre, and a golf simulator. The property is a 30-minute drive from Phu Bai International Airport.

José Andrés Group partners in new hotel

José Andrés Group and Thor Equities are to create the hospitality company's first hotel: The Bazaar House by José Andrés in Washington D.C.'s Georgetown neighborhood.

When opened, the 67-room hotel will include an exclusive private membership club, multiple food and beverage venues, event space, and a wellness center. The new property will be on a former shopping complex site at 3000 M Street.

Marriott plots new Chinese route

Marriott International has inked a deal with Sands China to launch the first Luxury Collection brand hotel in Macau, China. Londoner Grand, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Macao is expected to open in January 2025.

Located in Macao's Cotai Strip, the hotel will offer 2,405 rooms and suites. It will boast five dining concepts, including a dim sum restaurant and tearoom, a confectionery store, and a British pub bar. The property is ideally situated around 5km from Macau International Airport.

Hyatt heads for paradise

Hyatt Hotels has struck a deal to introduce a new Maldives resort. Hyatt Regency Samarafushi Maldives will mark Hyatt Regency's brand entry into the Maldives.

Located in the North Male Atoll, the new all-villa resort will join Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa and Alila Kothaifaru Maldives as the third Hyatt Maldives resort.

"We're thrilled to collaborate with SingHaiyi to invite travellers to one of world's most desirable resort destinations," said David Udell, group president, Asia Pacific, Hyatt. The Maldives resort spans 10 hectares and will feature 130 beachfront, treetop, and overwater villas.
