What is your favourite destination and why?
I’m really not very good at picking favourites - I love travelling because it allows me to constantly experience new things and explore new corners of our beautiful planet. This year my top three would include Iceland, Scotland and Ethiopia though. And Canada. See? I’m not good at this at all..
Tell us your scariest travel experience?
I’ve had my fair share of terrifying moments on the road - including a trip to a Russian police station and almost spending the night at a roundabout surrounded by wild boar. But I consider every bad travel experience a lesson so I mainly find these incidents amusing.
If you could only give one single travel tip that you think would be the most helpful what would it be?
Be open-minded and talk to locals. Travel is the best way to get to know other cultures and will really broaden your horizons if you let it.
What is your favourite travel related quote?
“If I'd learnt one thing from travelling, it was that the way to get things done was to go ahead and do them. Don't talk about going to Borneo. Book a ticket, get a visa, pack a bag, and it just happens.” (Alex Garland, The Beach)
