With the recent announcement of Etihad’s updated livery for the fleet, the Gulf airlines first Boeing 787-9 left the Everett headquarters of the airline manufacturer on 29 January, on its way to Doha to commence test flights. This the first of 71 787s on order.
Initial routes for deployment include Dusseldor, Washington DC and Mumbai, with additional routes including Brisbane and Moscow from mis 2015.
The new livery has made a definite impact in the industry with the inspiration for the geometric shapes found in Abu Dhabi’s modern architecture. The colours reflect the regions varying hues across the United Arab Emirates.
